Mike takes away the mystery - making involvement in music a reachable goal for all. Children leave concerts motivated, with an urgent desire/need to try the things he has shown them. Mike gives tips on how to play many of his 15 instruments and encourages children to 'have a go' at playing instruments that may be readily available at home. Indigenous String games, a little juggling and an introduction to ukulele all included. (age appropriate material selected per audience)
Great inspirational and technical starter for a 'hands on' music program across year levels and/or for the establishment of a school ukulele group.
Mike's 'instant play' method has participants strumming 2-3 chords and playing several songs after one session - with no prior musical knowledge. Teachers are able to continue through book/play-along CD, with the Uke'n Play system - as a fun and musically educational classroom activity. Specific teachers workshops also taken for free. Mike will bring a class set (24) ukuleles with him - for children to use on the day.
